About me

I am a Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research. Prior to this, I was a Research Associate in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh working in the research group of Dr. Mahesh K. Marina. I received my PhD in Computer Science in 2018 from the University of Edinburgh and my MSc in Advanced Computing in 2013 from Imperial College London.

My research broadly falls under the intersection of edge computing and next-generation mobile networks. My on-going research is on the following topics:

  • Programmable edge architectures for intelligent observability and control
  • vRAN architecture & performance
  • Platforms for deploying Edge AI workloads
  • Applications of machine learning to mobile networks
  • Large-scale testbeds and experimentation

Open source projects

Here is a list of some open source projects that I am (have been) involved with:

  • jbpf: Userspace eBPF instrumentation and control framework for deploying control and monitoring functions in a secure manner.
  • jrt-controller: Real-time controller providing functionalities envisaged by the concept of real-time RIC in O-RAN.
  • FlexRAN: Software-defined RAN platform based on OpenAirInterface.
